Rosas Maschinenbau Cheetah 500 tabletop rewinder

CAPE TOWN, South Africa (November 26, 2020)— German manufacturer Rosas Maschinenbau has appointed ROTOCON as their new distributor in South Africa for their customized high-performance rewinders and equipment for the label industry. ROTOCON has placed the first order for a Cheetah 500 tabletop rewinder.

Rosas Maschinenbau offers a wide range of customized high-performance tabletop rewinder and inspection machines, including:

  • Cheetah 500: tabletop rewinder with possible upgrades for inspection (print, pharma); inline code verification; and label finishing,
  • Rosas Maschinenbau GorillaGorilla: hybrid rewinder for booklet labels and thicker material,
  • Gazelle: high-speed bidirectional rewinder for imprinting labels,
  • Hippo: bidirectional rewinder for printing braille codes on labels and booklets,
  • Customized solutions for the RFID industry (HF, UHF, NFC) with read/write, and database synchronization in combination with optical vison systems.

Under the agreement, all Rosas Maschinenbau machines and equipment will be available through ROTOCON’s headquarters in Cape Town, and branch offices in Johannesburg and Durban.

“The product offering from Rosas Maschinenbau is complementary to our other slitting, rewinding and inspection machines we represent,” said Michael Aengenvoort, ROTOCON director and co-owner. “Their range of economically viable solutions are customizable, adapting to a printer’s unique specifications. Quality, productivity, and sustainability is their philosophy behind each machine they design and build.”

The Rosas machine on order, a Cheetah 500 tabletop rewinder, features two servo motors, splice table, idler roller, inside/outside wrap rewinding, web and winding tension control, integrated job memory, and operates at a speed up to 1600 ft/min (500m/min, depending on substrate) for 0.39 – 10 inch (9.9 – 254mm) thin film. It also features splice and missing label detection.

ROTOCON will provide local service technicians for installation, comprehensive operator training, and servicing of Rosas equipment.
