ROTOCON has published its second issue of ROTOCONNECT, a printed and on-line magazine.
This issue’s spotlight is our commitment to community development and our mantra of #bringingpeopletogether. In collaboration with the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT), we launched a wine label design competition earlier this year, specifically targeting undergraduate students enrolled in TUT’s Department of Visual Communication within the Faculty of Arts and Design.
The winners of this competition, Mpho Moema and Jimmy Libese, were acknowledged during the WineLand ROTOCON 30 Under 30 Awards event in June. Turn to page 5 and 8 to learn more about this prestigious event and hear Mpho and Jimmy’s experiences in creating the designs and participating in the contest.
Another community development collaboration was a photo shoot with the STADIO School of Media & Design second year students. Read more and see the winning photos on page 8.
Other highlights in this issue are a recap of the WineLand ROTOCON 30 Under 30 Awards; an introduction to our Durban and ROTOCON Europe crews; a successful installation of an MPS EF430 flexo press at Redfern Labels (also the 30th MPS press installed in South Africa); our long-standing partnership with Durban-based VR Print and their Screen Truepress Jet L350UV+ and ECOLINE RDF machine investments; and a recent ECOLINE RSH slitter rewinder installation at our partner EyeC in Hamburg, Germany featuring EyeC’s ProofRunner HighLight Web inline inspection system.
